An all-time favourite! An old boathouse slung out over the water, serving up fabulous meals, drinks and coffee in a beautiful setting replenished with luxuriant pots of flowers, foliage and fruit daily.

our neighbourhood
Our house and Studio is situated in a quiet and attractive street in Bilgola Plateau, a small bushland residential area located on an elevated plateau above the village of Avalon, which lies in the heart of Sydney's Northern Beaches.
The area is known as "The Peninsula" as it is bordered by Pittwater on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other, forming a narrow peninsula of land which terminates at Palm Beach in the north.
Beautiful beaches and bushland on both ocean and estuary side of the Peninsula provide many opportunities for swimming, surfing, boating, walking, picnicing and sight-seeing.
what's near us
The Studio is minutes by car to Avalon village, and Bilgola Beach - our preferred beach. Bilgola Beach is an unspoilt little gem, visited mostly by locals. It has a safe ocean pool for kids and is supervised by Life Savers most months of the year.
A great little cafe provides good coffee, ice-creams and food. it takes us about 15 minutes to walk down to Bilgola Beach; about the same to Avalon village, but longer on the way back up the hill to our house [depending on our current level of fitness!]
On the Pittwater estuary side, the beautiful and tranquil Clareville Beach is about 5 minutes drive from the Studio.
Whale Beach and Palm Beach are about 10 minute drive away.
The village of Avalon provides a great level of service for visitors: cafes, restaurants, wine bars, a refreshingly upmarket RSL club, a small, independent cinema, Woolworths supermarket, banks, organic food stores, delicatessens, chemists, hairdressers, bookstores, clothing and homeware boutiques, yoga and pilates centres - everything you need, but in a small and friendly area easy to walk around. The vibe is very laid back and the locals are friendly.
Avalon Beach is directly opposite the village, so it's easy to have a swim or surf and then wander over to the village to grab a coffee and a bite to eat.
